Maria Jimenez has more than fifteen years of experience in finance and small business, in both private and non-profit sectors. Currently, Ms. Jimenez works as a Small Business Coach at the Latino Economic Development Center in Wheaton, MD, where she helps entrepreneurs to launch their businesses and expand existing businesses. She provides training and workshops on different small business management areas such as business model, business planning, accounting and finance. She also provides one-on-one coaching to help entrepreneurs with specific areas of business development. Since May 2016, Ms. Jimenez has served over 500 entrepreneurs. Her passions are social entrepreneurship and small business. She volunteered as a mentor helping a Peruvian entrepreneur and evaluating social enterprises in Africa and Haiti.
Ms. Jimenez has a Bachelor degree in Accounting from Catholic University, Peru, and an MBA from the Monterrey Institute of Technology, Mexico. She received a certificate in Microfinance from the Boulder Institute of Microfinance and Social Enterprise and a Social Impact Investment certificate from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
