Who should attend The Power Conference 2011?

For many women and their families today, to inspire and challenge women from a broad range of age, ethnicity, occupation and professional level, as well as provide networking and learning opportunities for current and aspiring women leaders.

How many people will be at the conference?

We are expecting over 750 attendees at the conference. The evening reception and expo is expected to draw many more.

What time should I get to the conference?

Registration and the expo hall open at 7:30.  Starting at 8:00 we are having book signings and an early bird special networking session. If you want to get the most out of the day I would recommend coming early. If you are coming for the evening networking reception you should plan on being there around 4:00.

Where is there parking?

There is free parking on-site.

Is the Marriott metro accessible?

Yes, the White Flint station is an easy walk away.

What should I wear?

Most people will be dressed in business or business casual outfits.  I would highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes since you will be doing a lot of walking and standing.

I don’t get around well. Do you think I can attend?

Yes, the Marriott is accessible and we will have a number of areas where you can rest. However, it is a very large space. You will need to plan out your day carefully.  Please contact us if you have any specific needs or concerns.

Are men allowed?

Yes men are very welcome. There will be more women than men present.

Are there still expo booths available? How do I get one?

There are still a few booths available. Please go to the registration page and click on “marketing opportunities.” This will take you to the eventbrite registration page.

Can I bring someone with me to help me with my booth?

The booth comes with one full conference ticket. You have two options for your helper. Your helper can choose to attend the workshops and the lunch with a full ticket at a reduced price (select “I'm bringing someone with me. I need an Extra Full Conference Ticket--Early Discount”).  The other option is that your helper attends the expo and networking event and does not attend the lunch and educational sessions. This is a free ticket. Please select “I'm bringing someone with me who doesn't want education or lunch. Give me Extra Expo/Networking Tickets.”

What else can I expect to take away from attending The Power Conference?

Expect to be informed and challenged. Expect to take notes and make connections with dozens of women business owners, colleagues, and potential mentors. Expect to learn, grow and have fun!

What is for lunch?

LUNCH: Chilled soba noodles with crisp bok choy and napa cabbage, carrots, baby corn and straw mushrooms with sesame ginger chicken. SIDE: Fruit cup. YUMMY: Chocolate torte or Raspberry cheesecake.

Please let us know if you have any specific dietary restrictions. Vegetarian option avilable.

How did the idea from this conference come about?

Several women business organizations of the Washington Metro Area have joined forces to create the Women Business Consortium with the sole purpose of executing the largest, most relevant local women’s conference. The Power Conference: Women Doing Business! is designed to address the three hottest topics in business: Business Development and Contracting; Technology and Marketing, and Personal Development for Business Growth.
